Karsandas Manek is a well-known poet, storyteller, screenplay writer, and essayist. His birthdate is 28 November 1901. His birthplace is Karachi, and his native place is Hadiana, Jamnagar district, Gujarat. He did his primary and secondary education in Karachi. During the non-cooperation movement, he left his studies and joined Gujarati Vidyapeeth in 1923. In 1927, he graduated with Sanskrit and English subjects. He worked as a Principal in high schools till 1939. He also ran an English newspaper, Daily Mirror. He served the jail time from 1930 to 1932. He was the editor of the Janmabhoomi Trust’s Nutan, Gujarat, since 1948. In 1951, he started Sarathi weekly and Nachiketa monthly. He wrote poems in different poetic forms like sonnet, anjanigit, geyakavya, Marathi saji, and khandkavya. His poems of Vaishampayan Vani became very popular. He passed away on 18 January 1978 at Vadodara.
