Rajendra Patel is a famous Indian poet, writer, director, and producer from the Gujarat entertainment industry. On 20 August 1958, in Naroda, Ahmedabad, Rajendra Bhogilal Patel was born to Bhogilal and Lakshmibahen Patel. He completed his early education at Diwan Ballubhai School near Kankaria and went to Bhavans College, Ahmedabad, for his graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Rajendra completed his master's in 1980 from the School of Science at Gujarat University as an M.Sc. Organic Chemistry. He began his career in writing in 1974 by writing in a Gujarati language magazine, Vishwamanav, followed by the publication of his work in several other Gujarati literary magazines like Parab Kavita, Etad, Navneet Samarpan, Kumar, and Kavilok. Some of the notable poetry collections by Rajendra Patel are Vastuparva (2016), Bapujini Chhatri (2014), Ek Shodhaparva (2013), Kabutar Patang ane Darpan (2012), Shree Purant Janse (2009), Koshma Suryodaya (2004), and many more.

Later in 2007, he worked with many famous directors in movies like Sasu Ye Jamai Ne Phatkaryo, London Wali Se Neha Lagavli, and Mota Ghar ni Vahu. Released on 1 February 2007, Sasu Ye Jamai Ne Phatkaryo, Rajendra Patel, worked as a director, writer, and producer by Rajendra Patel, starring Rikin Trivedi. Rajendra owns a pharmaceutical company and worked with several organizations as a head.

From 2006-09, he served for Gujarat Sahitya Parishad, Ahmedabad, as a treasurer and was a member of the Advisory Board of Gujarati language at Sahitya Akademi, Delhi. Later in 2010, Rajendra Patel has appointed as the joint secretary of Vanche Gujarat Abhiyan and secretary of Gujarati Sahitya Parishad in 2012. After serving for six years at Gujarati Sahitya Parisha as a vice president from 2014-20, he is nowadays a trustee of Matrubhasha Abhiyan, a team member of the Gujarat Literature Festival, and Director of Anuvad Pratishthan. He has been honored by the Gujarat Sahitya Akademi for Jueeni Sugandh (2004), a short story collection, Shree Purant (2009) Janse, a poetry collection, and Avagat (2014), a criticism book. Adhuri Shodh and Akbandh Akash are notable short story collections by Rajendra Patel.
