Riniki Bhuyan Sharma was born on July 30, B/W 1970-1974 in Guwahati. She completed her education as well as higher education in Guwahati. She is an LLB graduate from the Government Law College of Guwahati. Daughter of the well-known industrialist Jadav Chandra Bhuyan, business was in her genes, and rightly, she is the Chairman of her media house and holding company Pride East Entertainments. The latter is a parent company of the news channels “News Live” and “North East Live,” entertainment channels “Ramdhenu,” “Rang,” “ Indradhanu Indradhanu is an Assamese TV serial directed by Di >> Read More... ” and Assamese Newspaper “Niyamiya Barta.” All in all, Riniki owns two news channels, three entertainment channels, and one Assamese newspaper. “Rang” was the first entertainment channel in Assam, and “News live” was the first Assam-based satellite news channel.

Along wIth the channels and newspapers, Riniki also owns a Silk weaving project. Through this project, she showcases silk sarees at the national and international level through “The Golden Threads of Assam”. She is also actively a part of politics. She is the wife of the 15th Chief Minister of Assam from the BJP party, Himanta Biswa Sarma. Riniki has also actively participated in the rallies and functions to appeal for votes for her husband.

She has also propagated her husband’s political party through her news channel. Before her business career, she played tennis and represented Assam at the National level. She is also very devoted to charity and the welfare of people. She has also been awarded a special award at “Prag Prerana Awards 2020” for her contribution to society and women's empowerment. “Porichay,” a movie produced by Riniki, has also won three awards at Jaipur International Film Fest.
