Milin Dutta is an LGBTQ leader, trans activist, environmental activist, and animal activist. His areas of expertise are data warehousing, project management, quality assurance leadership, offshore coordination, test process strategy, automation, localization testing, team building, healthcare, finance, and retail. He graduated from his NIT Surat and completed graduate school at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. He is also the founder of Anajoree, a non-profit platform that fosters diverse initiatives and change-makers for social change by strengthening leadership and building entrepreneurial skills in the Northeast. He was born in Guwahati as a girl. His father was a faculty member at Cotton College. He was the fourth child in his family. He said he considers himself a tomboy and that wearing traditional clothes made him feel uncomfortable. In seventh grade, he realized he was different. Milin Dutta called on educational institutions to create cells or smaller units like the Gender and Sexuality Alliance (USA) to address these issues.
His contributions to the LGBTQ community in Assam deserve recognition. A documentary " Kashish This was a short, and meaningful Hindi drama which >> Read More... " was also produced, inspired by the real-life experience of Assamese transman Mirin Dutta. Another controversial documentary, Towards Hope, was also filmed for him in 2021. Milin Dutta is also the organizer of the first Pride Share, a public gathering on LGBTQ issues in the Northeast. Mirin Dutta won his 2019 Best Feature Film Award for 'Firefly (Jonakii porua)'.
