Porikshit Kalita is an Indian lyricist, singer and music composer in Assam, India. He was born on the 1st of March in Assam, India. He finished graduation in BSc Botany at B. Baruah College, Guwahati. After graduation, he completed a post-graduation in MA in Cultural Studies and Ethnomusicology at Tezpur Central University. Porikshit started his journey as a music manager at Big FM in Guwahati. Before joining radio, he worked as a professional musician as he had a deep interest in music. He has completed many research work on folk songs of North-East India. Besides this, he has also created many serial song titles, contributed to many Assamese film songs, and composed music for many professional artists of Assam.

Afterwards, he was promoted to PH and Regional Co-ordinator at Big FM. As an aspiring radio professional, he has been creating content for radio shows since 2007. He switched to the television industry and joined Pride East Ent Pvt where he got promoted to Channel Head. His songs are “Guru Tumi”- an Assamese folk song sung by him, “Morom Jaasi,” “Morom Namor,” “Kaloinu Asa Roi,” “Xidina Abeli,” “Bhal Lage Mur” and many more. He creates content for television and directs reality shows and interview series.
