Sabhaapathy Movie Review
ORE AST REW
- preeti varma
- A few scenes are interesting
- The stars' performances are good
- Same old comedy sequences
Sabhaapathy is a comedy entertainer directed by Srinivasa Rao. "Santhanam" plays the titular role. The movie has Preeti Varma, Sayaji Shinde, "Swaminathan," "Pugazh," MS Bhaskar, and Uma Padmanabhan. Sam CS composed the music. Rameshkumar produced the film.
Sabhaapathy, who lives in Srirangam, has stammering issues. Due to this, he didn't get any job. He roams around the town with his friend, Ramani. Sabhaapathy falls in love with Savitri, his neighbor. Lucky Raja is a corrupted politician in the town. Luck favored Sabhaapathy, and he got a suitcase of money that belonged to Lucky Raja. What will Sabhaapathy do? Will he marry Savitri with the money he has? The rest of the story deals with this.
Santhanam has given a decent performance. He has tested a new role and has succeeded in it. MS Bhaskar is excellent as usual. Pugazh, who makes his debut, has given a decent performance. Preeti Varma has nothing interesting to do. The rest of the stars have done their part well.
Santhanam should be appreciated for his new attempt. He is gradually getting roles out of his comfort zone, which seems to be good. Although the sequences are not different from his usual films, the stars' performances make them enjoyable. Many characters are template ones, yet MS Bhaskar's role stands out. As usual, Santhanam's teammate Swaminathan is present. Although there are a lot of humorous elements, they didn't bring LOL moments, as the audience had seen similar scenes umpteen times. The music and camera departments have done an excellent job.
What's Not There?
Santhanam has tried a new role in this film. Although the comedy scenes are not much impressive, the film is watchable for the stars' performances!
