Lubna Salim

Lubna Salim or better known as Leela Thakkar due to the fame she acclaimed from popular, long-running serial Baa Bahooaur Baby. She is an Indian theatre and television actress. Baa Bahooaur Baby was one of the highlights of her career as after this serial, people refer to her more as LeelaThakkar. This definitely defines her acting skills. Her dad is a popular script writer –JavedSiddiqui and she did her education from Mithibai College where she pursued theatre at inter-college level. She has collected lots of appreciation for her work which includes Star Parivaar Awards in 2007 and Indian Telly award for Baa Bahoo Aur Baby.

Lubna Salim debuted in bollywood at the age of 16 and could not get herself accustomed to the norms of bollywood so she took the way of Indian serials. She has done a lot of Indian serials like Bharat EkKhoj, Chhatrapati Shivaji, Daaman and Mera Naam Karegi Roshan. Her plays include Azar Ka Kwab, Shyam Rang, Atmakatha, Lakeerein and Mera Kuch Saman. Recently she has ventured into movies as well –like the role of PareshRawal’s life ‘OMG-Oh My God’. One of the turning points in her career was producing and acting in her play Lakeerein, which is based on the collection of renowned poems of Gulzar. This serial is based on the theme of Indo-Pak relations. She did this play because of her father and husband who are closely associated with Gulzar. She is planning onto producing a show on TV as well. Presently she is leading a happy married life with her husband SalimArif and is raising two children .she met her husband while working on a show tele-serial –Discovery Of India.
