The young poet fell in love with a girl next door, who left the city unexpectedly. However, they meet again after some years when Faiz has become a well-established poet. This encounter inspired him to write ‘Raqeeb Se!’. The story behind this poem became the main backdrop of the serial. Its story revolves around four women and the men present in their lives. Maqsood (Noman Ejaz) and Sakina’s (Hadiqa Kiani) famous love story and its tragic ending is known to everyone in their family. Maqsood is trying to move on with his wife, Hajra (Sania Saeed).

But, he could not forget about his love life and the murder of his elder brother, Masood, done by Sakina’s brother. This incident drifted the lovers apart. Now, Sakina is married to an abusive husband, Rafique. Due to her guilt towards Maqsood’s family, she endured everything. Later, encouraged by her daughter Ameera, she leaves him and seeks shelter from her former lover. However, Maqsood holds a deep grudge against her and refuses to help the mother-daughter duo. Kind Hajra accepted them with open arms ignoring the resistance from her daughter Insha (Faryal Mehmood), who considers this as an injustice to her mother. Although both mothers are closer to their daughters, the fathers, however, are estranged from them. On the other hand, Aatka, Masood’s wife, urges Maqsood to marry Sakina and take revenge for his brother’s murder, which he denies. Soon, Kashif, Aatka’s son, became Ameera’s love interest, and Insha married her lover, Abdul. Kashif is a man of morals fighting against corruption, while Abdul is a self-centered opportunist.

Finally, the women characters learned to move on with self-respect from the experiences of their lives. Hajra received much-deserved love and attention from her husband, started focusing on her career, and laughed often. Maqsood starts caring about his daughter more. Sakina learned to let go of the past and started making her path. Rafique also realizes his love for his daughter and wants her back in his life. On the other hand, Insha and Ameera reacted more maturely while facing the same fate as their respective mothers.

Insha filed for divorce upon realizing the true colors of her husband. It emphasizes better to leave a toxic and unhappy relationship instead of sacrificing everything for the sake of it. Ameera’s lover proposed to her. He was killed, in front of her, due to his fight against fraud and corruption. However, she did not drown herself in sadness and learned to cope with it. She started taking care of her father. This serial had a bitter-sweet ending and was a visual treat for its viewers, making it the most meaningful and complete drama.
