The story revolves around a girl named Zimal, who, while studying at a university in Lahore, gets inspired by her teacher, Professor Mairaj, and develops a passion for helping others through education.

After graduation, she meets Baba Jan, a significant person, and decides to work for children's education when she returns to her hometown in Kashmir. She is engaged to her cousin, Shazil, and when he asks about their marriage, she postpones it for two years to pursue her future goals. Then, Baba Jan's son, Karamat Khan, wishes to marry Zimal as he desires a son, but his first wife couldn't give him one. He decides to return the land to the workers, leading to a dispute and tension between them. Tragically, one day, he is killed by his son, Karamat, who pushes him from a cliff.

After his death, Karamat unjustly takes all the property of the workers and lands and proposes to Zimal, but she rejects him. Upon discovering Karamat's true nature, she decides to marry Shazil without hesitation. They resettle in Islamabad, and she becomes a school teacher. With the help of her colleagues Maryam and Shazil, she opened a street school to benefit the community. There is a boy named Ashhad who has loved Zimal since childhood but faces obstacles due to social class differences. Heartbroken by Zimal's marriage, he moves to the United States of America. Zimal cannot conceive, even with IVF, which puts her and Shazil's marriage at stake. To show her regret for not having children with Shazil, she arranges for him to marry Mariyam, her friend and colleague.
