The story starts with a poor family in Pakistan. Zeenat and her husband have four young daughters- Asmara, Ambar, Arshi, and Farwa. Ambar is the eldest, and Farwa is the youngest. Ambar is the only working person in the family. Other siblings are still studying.

Asmara, being the eldest, is the most responsible one. She takes the responsibility to earn and also does the household work. She treats her other siblings like her own children. She is concerned for her whole family. Their father is disabled. He has been in a wheelchair for many years. Since his legs do not work anymore, he cannot earn for his family. Zeenat does not sympathize with her husband. She is an ungrateful and cruel woman. She is constantly angry with her husband because he does not earn anymore. She is careless about her daughters as well. She makes her daughters do the household work. She even taunts Asmara that she earns very little and that her salary does not even cover the expense of the house.

Zeenat knows that Asmara never shies away from using her salary to buy expensive medicines for her father. Therefore, Zeenat hates her husband more. Asmara’s aunt’s son, Haris, likes Asmara. But Haris’s mother does not like Asmara as she believes her nature is the same as her mother, Zeenat. All the four daughters have different personalities. Ambar is the laziest one. She does not like doing any work and likes to daydream. Farwa is a respectful girl. She respects everyone, especially her sister Asmara. The show portrays a world of suffering, sacrifice, and escape as the story progresses.

Each episode shows the different side of the characters of the story. The show especially revolves around how Zeenat tries to overcome the challenges life throws at her. Her twisted way of raising her daughters has a different effect on each daughter. The family has to face the environment of societal norms and standards. Each member has to pave their route to their way of life. They discover the true meaning of family when facing challenges. They realize the value of sticking by one another no matter what through their struggles and victories.
