Daag-e-Nidamat is a Pakistani serial that premiered in 2013 on PTV Home. It is an Urdu-language serial that focuses on the life of Iram, a young and beautiful girl. Iram lives with her middle-class family consisting of her parents, Sadiq (her brother), and Zohra (sister-in-law). Iram dreams of living a wealthy and peaceful life after marriage. However, she is engaged with Asim (Zohra’s brother), who is a police constable and has the responsibility to feed his family and get his sisters married. Iram accompanied Zohra to Seema, her friend’s house, to attend their high-class wedding. During the event Iram crossed paths with Zubair, Seema’s brother and he fell in love at first sight. After the event, Iram seriously considered her marriage with Asim because he wouldn’t be able to make Iram happy and fulfill her wishes. The story escalates when Zubair expresses his wish to marry Iram to his mother and sister.

Seema with her mom visits Iram’s house to share the marriage proposal. Iram’s mother told them about Iram’s engagement and unwillingness to accept Zubair’s proposal. Later, Iram got a call from Zubair and she got convinced that marrying Zubair would be the ideal choice. Looking at Zubair’s rich status and love for her, Iram fought with her family to let her marry Zubair. Asim was disheartened with Iram and felt terrible for breaking their five-year engagement.
