It depicts and revolves around the lives of two business partners and their respective families. However, things take a turn when Ali Afzal proposes a marriage between their respective son and daughter. Ali asks Shaukat's daughter Maryam's hand in marriage with his son Mikaal. Mikaal is revealed to have fallen in love with Maryam the moment he had first seen her. However, it's not the same case for Maryam. When she learns of the arranged marriage she agrees somewhat reluctantly in order to appease her family.

After the marriage, she discovers Mikaal's true personality and surprisingly enough falls in love with him right away. They get intimate and their relationship develops for the better. The marriage turns out to be a good and happy one. However, things take a turn when Laiba is introduced to the whole picture. Laiba is the woman who had been in love with Mikaal for a very long time. She had always thought of him proposing to her because she thought that he cared for her enough and loved her back. When Mikaal had not taken the step to propose to her in the past, she decided to propose to him instead. But, to her disappointment, he had rejected her. Feeling embarrassed about the situation Laiba had turned the whole situation around and had it seem like she had rejected him instead. On the other hand, at Maryam's house, Maryam had always been the favourite person.

She had always been the perfect daughter and the innocent sister. Adeel has always adored her because she's the sister that has everyone's heart in the family. This made Nida, Adeel's wife, very jealous of Maryam. Nida had always thought and felt that Maryam was always getting the attention instead of her regardless of what she does. Her own husband prefers to care for his sister more than he cares for his wife. This vexes Nida and makes her jealous.

When Laiba meets Nida and learns of her situation she makes an alliance with her and together they make plans to deceive everyone and tarnish Maryam's character and marriage. They learn that Maryam had a friend in college named Hassan and they use this information to make it seem like Maryam is having an extramarital affair. Due to this Mikaal starts to lose trust in her and their marriage shows the signs of going downhill. However, Maryam doesn't give up on her marriage easily and is determined to make it work. How she manages to fend off her ill wishers and how she gains back her husband's trust is what constitutes the rest of the serial.
