Gana Pettai is a singing reality show that aired on Peppers TV. The show started in 2017 and aired once a week. The show is unique and related to traditional Tamil songs. The show is dedicated to the folk songs in Tamil. In the show, there is a host who travels places in the state to find local singers who are talented and sing Tamil folk songs. Each week they go to different places exploring the art and the artist. In the show, there is no stage or studio or anything fancy. The host just finds these singers via different online platforms and then visits the places where they live. And then he starts introducing its viewers about the place he is going to explore, and the singer he is going to meet with. After that, he meets the singer and sits with him in a public place. Very often, common people also sit with them to hear their conversation and songs. The host interviews these singers and asks them about their singing techniques. He tells them to share their musical journey. Then, in addition, he asks these singers about how they got into singing and what makes them unique.
After sharing his experience and other things, the host asks him/her to sing some of their favorite folk songs. When they sing, the host starts clapping, and the crowd sitting with these people claps too. In one of the episodes they meet singer Dinesh, he shares all the things related to his singing and then starts singing the songs he sings well. One episode is generally 25 to 30 minutes long. In one episode, the host met with Gana singer Sindhai Sethu. In another episode, he met Robin and Vinayagan. .
