Marupadiyum serial was aired on the Colors Tamil channel. It is the dubbed version of the Hindi serial, Bepannah. The main characters Aditya and Zoya were individually married and were happy with their respective spouses, Pooja and Yash. Little did they know that it wasn’t the same with their spouses. When they found their significant others in an accident together, their entire world turned upside down. They were torn between the loss of their loved ones and the hovering question of why they were together.
When Zoya attempted suicide, Aditya saved her, and their friendship started growing. Into their already complicated lives, Aditya’s half brother entered as the CBI officer who has taken up the accident case. He believed that Aditya and Zoya were guilty of murder, which left them no choice but to run. Aditya’s father proves their innocence and brings them back.Â
Once they returned, Zoya read Pooja’s diary and found out that she was pregnant. Aditya and Zoya decided that they should move on and go their separate ways. After getting back on their feet, they both meet again. Aditya started developing feelings for Zoya, who already had a boyfriend. Meanwhile, Pooja’s mother found out that Aditya’s mother murdered Yash and Pooja. She pushed Pooja’s mother off a cliff, killing another person. When Aditya declares his love for Zoya, she misunderstands him and agrees to marry her boyfriend. She later realizes her feelings for Aditya and marries him.
Aditya’s half-brother murders their father and frames it on Aditya and causes misunderstandings between him and Zoya, which causes them to part ways yet again. Aditya’s mother becomes mentally unstable and gets kept under supervision. When Aditya and Zoya cross paths again, they fall for each other again and reconcile. Aditya’s mother recalls her crimes, confesses to three murders and gets arrested.
