The daily soap revolves around a film-making aspirant Gujarati girl, Pooja Mehta (played by Shama Sikander), who idolizes Karan Johar. Pooja pursued her ambitions by enrolling at St. Martin's College without informing her family. Soon, Pooja faces humiliation for her middle-class background and Gujarati accent. Further episodes revolve around her college life as she gradually wins over her classmates, makes new friends, and completes her course.

Later, the story shows Pooja as an independent working woman. Pooja and her sister Poornima (played by Smita Bansal) marry the Gujral brothers, Ashmit (played by Raza Azam) and Ronit (played by Amit Jain), respectively. A few days after her sister's demise, Pooja discovers that her husband is the murderer of her sister for keeping his secret intact. Ashmit receives punishment, and Pooja feels sad and disappointed. During her gloomy phase, Ronit showed her light and pushed her toward her dream of becoming a filmmaker. Finally, Pooja finished her first film, and during its premiere, Ronit proposed to her for marriage. Then they had their happily ever after!
