He started his career in Marathi films in 1991. He mainly does comedy roles in all the major Marathi commercial as well as drama films. He was born on 12 June 1972. His father had worked for the Bharat Petroleum while his mother was a housewife. He married Mamata Kadam. They have three daughters together, Samruddhi, Mrunmayee, and Sanchiti. He lives in Dombivili along with his family.

He did his schooling in Dnyaneshwar School, Wadala. His father passed away while he was quite young which made Bhau work to fulfill the needs of his family. He started off as a theater actor and did theater dramas like Evdach N, Many Ekankikas with his Group Korba 37, Ek Daav Bhatacha, Bajirao Mast Mi, Bhatachi ByPass, and Karun Gele Gaav. His first appearance of television was in the serial Tuzha Maza Zamena. Although this was his first serial, he did not gain a lot of fame. His second serial was Fu Bai Fu which is still considered as one of his best works till date.
