As the title mentions, the story is about a person named Surjith, who is an insomniac. Insomniac means a person without sleep or like a lunatic. He acts weirdly sometimes and creates some trouble for his other mates.

He has no sleep. Instead of sleeping, he does something adventurous or unexpected. Each episode portrays the events that occurred in his insomniac nights. The troubles are likely funny. The episodes in the series present different events of trouble. A man named Jiju, who has recently returned from working in the Gulf, visits Surjith, without knowing his illness. Jiju boasts about buying an expensive car and his financial success. They talk in the very beginning. Jiju presents himself as a successful individual who has just returned from working in the Gulf. He spins an elaborate tale about his achievements, claiming to have purchased a car for 15 lakhs, and learned valuable skills. He also said that his Arab employers were in distress when he left. He talks about his plans for a startup and his supposed prowess in trading. He claims his life was successful but couldn’t answer why he left there. It becomes clear that Jiju is not being entirely truthful.

He asks to borrow a cigarette. Surjith humor Jiju's tall tales. While at Surjith's home, Jiju loses the car keys and spends a long time searching for them. During this search, we get glimpses of Surjith's eccentric nature. He has multiple items scattered like multiple buckets, a puttu maker, and a tap recorder in unexpected places. At the moment, Jiju receives phone calls from his brother. His brother is angry as the car is his. Jiju continuously tries to find the keys. Surjith gives him a cigarette and coffee to calm him down. Jiju becomes increasingly anxious and Surjith remains eerily calm. Surjith has given Jiju alcohol. They then started singing Malayalam movie songs together as alcohol shifted their mood from anxiety to happiness. Surjith after assuring Jiju had slept, went on a drive in Jiju’s car. It becomes clear that he took the car keys. The car keys are quickly found in an obvious place as Surjith has hidden them deliberately to keep Jiju there overnight. As Jiju leaves, he tells another story about needing to buy fish for his mother and take his siblings to Kodagu, further showcasing his habit of fabricating stories. The final twist comes when Jiju calls a friend. Everybody was enquiring about Jiju to him, so he asked where he was. He answers that he was with Surjith. The friend reveals that Surjith is known to be nuts and is taking medication for mental illness.

He shares a story about his own experience with Surjith, where he ended up in front of a temple after a night of drinking. He says that Surjith is mentally unstable and known for manipulative behavior. The friend reveals that Surjith likely hid the car keys on purpose to keep Jiju there. Jiju has been deceived by Surjith, while Jiju himself has been lying about his success and ownership of the car. Jithu and Surjith at a store. Jithu claims he's there to buy bread, though Surjith questions why he'd come so far for that. Jithu then reveals it's his wedding anniversary, and he's looking for a gift for his wife. They discuss buying perfume. Jithu tries it. But Jithu is terrified by the high price. Later, Jithu called Surjith in distress. His wife is angry and suspicious about where he's been. Surjith comes over to help mediate the situation. It's revealed that Jithu's wife smells perfume on him and suspects he's been with another woman, a coworker named Sreeja. To uncover the truth Surjith makes a plan. He plans to invite everyone including Sreeja to the anniversary party.

During the party, Surjith slowly starts investigating more about her. He asks questions about Sreeja's whereabouts and the perfume she wears. He gets to know that Sreeja is actually on leave because her parents are visiting. As the party progresses, Jithu's wife realizes that the perfume smell is likely from a gift Jithu had bought for her - a bottle of Versace perfume he was planning to surprise her with later. After the party, Surjith and Jithu have a private conversation. Surjith playfully teases Jithu about potential feelings between him and Sreeja, noting how she complimented his shirt. Jithu denies any impropriety, but Surjith, claiming psychological insight, suggests there might be unspoken attractions. Here Surjith tries to create new confusions in the mind of Jithu.
