Star Voice of India was a singing competition that was first aired in Star Plus in 2007. it was the first singing competition produced by Star Plus and directed by
Gajendra Singh
who had already done very famous shows like Antakshari and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. The judges to the show were Aadesh Srivastava,
Abhijeet Bhattacharya
,
Alka Yagnik
,
Jatin Pandit
and
Lalit Pandit
 . The show was hosted by well known singer, Shaan. Auditions for the show were held in Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow and Indore. Seventeen candidates were shortlisted for the main show fro these auditions who were ultimately reduced to 12 and were called bemisaal barah ( Incomparable Twelve). These twelve participants were further divided into two teams named Agni and Prithee. The mentors to Agni team were Lalit Pandit and Aadesh Srivastava and for Prithvi team, Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Alka Yagnik were the mentors. Jatin Pandit remained a neutral judge. These teams were subjected to various rounds in different episodes, thematic singing actor-wise, singer-wise, film-wise and after passing through elimination rounds, the grand finale was held where Ishmit Singh Sodhi fro Punjab was declared as winner and
Harshit Saxena
from Lucknow was declared as runner up. The winner was awarded a singing contract with Big Music and a chevrolet car. Unfortunately Ishmit was killed in July 2008 in a drowning incident.
The show was telecast on Star Plus from May 18, 2007 to November 24, 2007. Later other seasons of this show were also made.
