Upasana is a Hindi serial broadcast on the Doordarshan channel. The story starts almost a thousand and eight hundred years before in a part of Tamil Nadu, India. At that time Tamil Nadu was divided into three parts. The people from this part of Tamil Nadu have trade,are welcoming the foreign traders. These foreign traders are addicted to Tamil Nadu’s soil. He wants to buy pearls from the king of this who is the Mahanayak of this area. Mahanayak is getting his daughter married to a wealthy merchant’s son. Chinese traders also come to this land to trade. Chinese traders are in awe of the culture, tradition, trading, wealth, and health of this place. One trader wants to thank Mahanayak for the a-grade quality goods given to them.

People are rejoicing everywhere in this region of Tamil Nadu. Traders from all over the place have gathered here. Mahanayak’s work in the development of this area is famous everywhere, the most important being stopping the flow of the Kaveri river and making a wall there, which is called the dam. The river has been given a new path used for the prosperity of this kingdom. This place is the most food-producing in this world. The Indian tradersare showing this beautiful place to the foreign traders. There is a separate place for dance and art forms. Trader from Magadh has bought a pearl from Nepal and wants silk from Tamil Nadu. The marriage takes place. The bride and groom put garlands around each other’s necks and after various traditions and rituals, they finally get married.

Five years pass by and the kingdom gets ravaged by a monster. The monster is five times the normal human size. The monster has some complaints regarding the people of this kingdom. He is the monster of justice. He has just come to know a man from this kingdom left his wife because of pity lies which led her to commit suicide. He has to kill that person.The man’s mother is crying her eyes out, and both the king and she request the monster to leave her son. But the monster ends up killing him. After his death, the king tries consoling her.
