She was first seen in the serial 'Kahin To Hoga' on as Dr. Archita who performs an operation on the male protagonist Sujal Grewal. Thought he role was a small one but her performance was lauded by all. Her great looks and intelligent acting created a great impression on the audiences. 

The next serial where she performed to a great pleasure of the audiences was 'Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyaan on Zee TV. It was produced by Dheeraj Kumar and Zuby Kochar for Creative Eye and was directed by Rajan Shahi. The storyline dealt with four daughters and the pleasures of having a daughter in the house against the Indian belief that only a son can be helpful to the parents in their old age. The serial hit the society with a very touchy issue and was received well by the audiences. The serial was telecast on Zee TV during 2006-09 and was a great success.

Khushboo Thakkar wanted to be a radio jockey at first, but she ended up in the acting industry. She wished to do distinct roles and reality shows except for the Bigg Boss, since she cannot survive and stay in the house for at least a day.
