The story revolves around Bhutto, who is the soul of a dead girl who lives in an empty house. When she waits for her mother to talk with her, she gets horrified when the neighbors say that the ghost occupies the house.

During pooja, she fainted, and Lord Krishna appears in her dream. He reveals a short flashback that she was dead in a fire accident six months ago. He also tells the truth to her. Bhutu will meet a friend, who will lead her to her mother, and she can sense Bhutu. In a situation when the friendship goes extreme, she can see and touch her. Such Sharma hates kids and comes across this house when her family pants to vacate the house before her wedding. She rents it and able to hear Bhutu’s voice. Everyone suspects her to be suffering from some sort of mental disorder. She meets Subodh (Bhutu’s father) and realizes everything till Bhutu’s soul. She sends to parcel to Bhutu’s parents in Singapore along with Bhutu to get rid of her.

She instructs her to stay with the parcel, but their parents planned to shift. It makes her develop a soft corner for the little girl. She then finds out that Anandita (Bhutu’s mother) has not left the city, she tries to reunite them. Through this event, she can touch Bhutu, which results in their attractive bond. Later, she starts calling her "Bhootu" and promises that she would help her reunite with her mother. When she realizes Suchi's fiance Rishabh is marrying her for dowry, she meets with a fatal accident. Due to the complex situation, Bhutu pleads for the help of Krishna to save Suchi’s life. Finally, she can see Bhutu, and her mother calls off her engagement with Rishabh. when She came to know about Rishabh's cheap tactics, she hands him over to the police.

Such applies for a new job. She and Anandita become friends as Anandita is her immediate boss. When Subodh learns about Aarav being Anandita's boss, he plans to shift house immediately. She jumps in search of Bhutto's mother with full force. First, dislike Aarav, then comes across Suchi's profile in a matrimonial site and misunderstands that she shows her identity as a single mother for sympathy. Then she clears him with the happenings, and that makes Aarav realized and fall for her. Suchi finally discovers Anandita's identity and rushes to meet her with Bhutu. But Anandita had already left before her visit. After her shifting, Anandita finds Bhutu's death wasn't an accident but a murder. Suchi knows it through a different source and searches for the culprit. Aarav’s help for Suchi and Bhutu misunderstands her.

Then she realizes that apart from Anandita only Suchi loves, and she wouldn't be able to stay without her. Suchi discovers the reason for Bhutu's murder, where Aarav was the culprit, and Aarav surrenders to the police when she says it to him and collapses in front of him. She then finds that his sister Mansi was the real culprit when she involves an extramarital affair but with Subodh. But when he refuses to accept her, she plans to attack Anandita, but Bhutu dies in the accident, and Mansi loses her mental balance. Aarav is furious and buys her house to torture her when Suchi gets Mansa arrested. Later Aarav gets normal when Suchi says everything to him. Later in Suchi’s wedding with Aarav Mansi shoots Subodh, and Lord Krishna says that he should take Bhutu away and promise that he will bring him like Anandita’s daughter.

Then Anandita loses her mental balance, and Bhutu stays behind for her and emotionally bids farewell to everyone. Suchi and Bhutu get separated, and the season ends. They show a two years lap in the story. Bhutu is still living in her house, waiting for her mother. Anandita returns home but does not remember anything. Bhutu's uncle Vikram marries Anandita and improves her condition. Consequences plot their family. Then Anandita recovers and gets pregnant. When she gives birth to a baby girl, Lord Krishna transfer Bhutu's soul into the baby's body and unites her with her mother. Hence the series ends.
