The Hindi rom-com web series Flames was created by TVF and released in 2018. It centers around two young students, Rajat and Ishita, who meet at a tuition center in West Delhi. Rajat harbors a secret crush on Ishita initially, but she only sees him as a friend. As time passes, their feelings for one another deepen into love during their school and college years. Flames depict the journey of these two characters over five years, from adolescence into adulthood. It explores the evolution of their relationship from friendship to romance.

The second season, released in 2019, fast-forwards five more years as Rajat and Ishita deal with challenges and insecurities as working professionals in Mumbai. With its urban, youthful vibe and relatable storyline following two endearing characters over the years, Flames became a hugely popular coming-of-age rom-com.  A third season was launched in 2022, continuing to capture contemporary young romance. In the third season, Rajat continues pursuing Ishita, though she wants to be friends for now.

Their dynamics get complicated when Ishita's childhood buddy, Batri, enters the picture, making Rajat jealous. His possessiveness results in a fight with Ishita. Their tuition centre run by Kaushal Sir, shifts to his rooftop but faces closure. Rajat's risky attempts to impress Ishita backfire, angering her father and Ishita herself. Rajat finally realizes he needs to respect Ishita's boundaries after his brother explains healthy relationships. The future of the tuition center is uncertain. Tensions rise amongst the friend circle amidst changes in relationships and location.
