Katha, a single mother, faces immense hardship as she struggles to pay for cancer treatment for her son, Aarav, without support from her in-laws. Meanwhile, Viaan, a successful architect, distrusts women due to his father abandoning his mother, Teji, for another woman. Katha impresses Viaan's company but asks him for money without explaining it's for Aarav's treatment, due to company policy against married women. Suspecting she is a gold digger, Viaan offers the money in exchange for her spending a night with him. Out of desperation, Katha reluctantly agrees. After Aarav's successful treatment, Katha resents Viaan but sees his caring side. Viaan develops feelings for Katha, but his jealous mother Teji disapproves.
It's revealed that Viaan's father Viraj did not abandon them - he left because Teji refused a divorce. Viaan embraces his half-sister Vanya when she joins the company, reconciling with the past. Katha and Viaan share love, but face turmoil when their secret night together is uncovered. In a scuffle, Viaan accidentally shoots Katha's father-in-law and is jailed. Years on, Katha has moved on, raising Aarav alone while engaged to another. Viaan returns from prison to find Katha has continued her life without him.
