The Screen Awards is an award ceremony that is held in India every year honoring professional excellence in Bollywood. The first screen awards get telecast on Star Plus in the year 2000 till 2011, then it gets telecast on Colours TV from 2012-2013 and lastly it gets telecast on Life OK from 2014-2015. The name of the awards has the starting word of the channel.
The awards get initiated by Mr. Viveck Goenka, the chairman of the Express Group. These awards are the first to be conducted every year. The awards are sponsored by Videocon International and the awards are presented for Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada Cinema.
