The story revolves around the marriage of Anurag. Anurag completed his MBA from London and is finally planning to get settled.  As he returns to his hometown, Bihar, his family wants him to choose an appropriate bride. Both of the parents have different choices which confuses Anurag. His father wants him to marry Srishti, but his mother wants him to marry Ragini. He chooses Srishti, but this ignites jealousy in the heart of Ragini. Ragini's father creates chaos on the day of Anurag's and Srishti's marriage and keeps his father at gunpoint. He is forced to marry Ragini. Srishti marries Anurag’s mentally disabled brother named Vishesh at the same time.

Soon, Srishti is blamed for having an affair with her old friend and obsessive lover, Shekhar. Shekhar is then arrested in charge of attempting to murder Vishesh.

Soon in the story, a hitman tries to kill Srishti, and Vishesh tries to save him. He died due to the fight but his body is never found from the cliff. A new person comes into the story named Baiju Kanpuria. He is the newly appointed Bodyguard of Srishti. They are suspected of having an affair and are forced to get married to each other. Slowly things change for the good. Srishti and Baiju started developing feelings for each other, and Anurag and Ragini also feel the same. Ragini soon becomes pregnant. Later, Shekhar returns in the story and tries to separate Baiju from Srishti. Baiju is killed, and Srishti goes to jail under some false accusations. She is also pregnant and soon delivers a baby girl in jail. Her daughter is taken care of by Anurag and his family. Her daughter's name is Sakshi. Ragini also gave birth to a daughter named Agni. There is a 20 year leap in the show and both of them became adults. Agni and Sakshi fall in love with the same person named Kishan. History repeats itself and Kishan loves Agni but Sakshi marries him forcefully. Agni eventually falls in love with Kishan's cousin named Sameer and they get married.
