Rajlakshmi Kurukhetram is a romantic comedy that was premiered and telecasted on the channel of Zee Bangla. This television soap opera revolves around its protagonist known as Rajlakshmi. The serial begins by showing a rich and wealthy joint family where the second main character is introduced to the audience. He goes by the name Arko. Arko is portrayed as a good and friendly man who lives with his entire family and the family patriarch is his grandfather Nibaron Chakraborty. Arko is shown to have fallen in love with Rajlakshmi and he refuses to let her go when his grandfather learns of the affair and disapproves of it. Assessing the whole ordeal and learning that Arko’s grandfather and the rest of the family is a bit caste conscious she decides to make them learn a valuable lesson. Soon as planned Arko marries her without the approval of his family and Rajlakshmi enters the house as their daughter-in-law.

This is where things take a comical turn. She enters the house as a south-Indian devoted wife with this very vivid and vibrant personality which renders everyone a bit stunned at her. As the days pass her interactions with the rest of the household hold many humorous undertones which will leave the audience rolling with laughter. No matter what the other members of the household do to subdue Rajlakshmi, they fail every time due to Rajlakshmi’s sheer wit and fun personality and moral plans which ultimately lead the other members to back off from trying to overpower her. How she manages to become the ideal wife for the whole family and how the relationship between her beloved Arko and herself flourishes is what the rest of the episodes constitute.
