‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ is a dark comedy based on the book of the same name written by Jordan Belfort on his experience in the stock market business, the corruption his company got themselves embroiled in, and the ultimate downfall of it all. Martin Scorsese directed and co-produced the film, and Terence Winter adapted the screenplay for the story. The movie stars many notable talents like Leonardo DiCaprio who plays the role of Jordan Belfort, Jonah Hill who plays the part of his friend and business partner, Donnie Azoff, Margot Robbie as the lovely Naomi Lapaglia, and few others. Some prominent actors likeMatthew McConaughey, Jon Favreau, Rob Reiner, and others feature in the movie.
The trailer breaks the fourth wall by directly addressing the audience and offering a commentary throughout it. The breach of the fourth wall by Jordan Belfort, the main role of the film, gives the trailer its dramatic quality, and the narration and dialogues are exceptional in the portrayal of one of the dark times of U. S. history. The soundtrack of Hang You From the Heavens by The Dead Weather with its guitar crescendo adds a theatrical and striking element to the visuals.
The movie received positive reviews and most of that praise belongs to the incredible performances by the actors. Leonardo DiCaprio was brilliant in his role and is compelling throughout the movie and keeps us thoroughly engaged. The editing, the cinematography, the direction, and screenplay along with the acting just mesh in a way that leaves us satisfied and satiated. The movie received several nominations and several recognitions of which DiCaprio won the Golden Globe for the Best Actor- Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
