Gautam is a sincere cop who works in the traffic wing. But, he yearns to work in the crime department. When he finds out some skeletal remains under his jurisdiction, he wanted to get into the case deeper. He comes to know that the death occurred forty years back. As he could not involve directly in the case, with the help of an ex-cop Ranjit and a journalist GK, he thoroughly analyses the case. What did he find from the case? Was that a murder? If so, who is responsible? The answers form the rest of the story.
Sumanth is perfect as a cop. His body language and expressions are fantastic. Jayaprakash and Nassar fit well in the roles. Nandita is given a small role, yet she managed to give her best.
Sumanth should be appreciated for picking up a different script. Pradeep’s screenplay is neatly penned and it makes the audience watch the screen without any boring moments. However, the first half is a bit slow, while comparing with the second half. Unlike some thrillers that use all sorts of cinematic liberty and miss the logic, this film has everything in its place. The BGM gels well with the story and makes us travel with the script. Cinematography and editing are quite decent.
What’s Not There?
Not all remakes create the magic. But, Kapatadhaari is one such good movie made with the right elements to engage the audience. Kapatadhaari – watchable for some interesting scenes and neat performances!
