Plot

Nalan runs a newly launched restaurant. A customer who visits the restaurant leaves a mummy statue, and after its arrival, Nalan experiences some supernatural things. Meanwhile, his ladylove, Kayal, works for a company that has been trying to develop an app to communicate with the spirits. Kayal’s brother Premkumar is against Kayal and Nalan’s love. Premkumar is a cop. Nalan is now surrounded by murders and mysteries. What’s the real reason for his spooky experience? The rest if the film deals with this.

Star Performance

Ashwin is good in the given role. Pavithrah’s performance is not up to the mark. Anupama Kumar, Kaali Venkar, and Abhi Nakshtara have done their best. Kavitha Bharathi is okay in some scenes and in some scenes, we can see his overreactions. Gaurav Narayan should concentrate well in his dialogue pronunciation.

Analysis

When the film starts with the mummy statue, we may think they would spin the story like the Hollywood Mummy. But this story is older than Hollywood’s Mummy revenge story. The screenplay is the backbone of a film. But, it is not gripping in Pizza 3. The scenes in which the ghost cooks are repeatedly shown, irritate. The second half focuses on the revenge story based on child abuse. However, those scenes are not natural. Though the visuals are okay, the horror sequences are not up to the mark. The editing should have been crispier. The BGM is okay, but as the scenes are not much effective, it didn’t get any importance.

Verdict

Though the film has some spooky elements, the screenplay and execution make it unimpressive. If you want to try this horror film, just watch it only to kill your time.
