The Tamil movie Idhu Namma Aalu is a romantic comedy. The movie has been written and directed by the much-acclaimed director Pandiraj. The movie has important actors in it as Silambarasan, Nayantara, and Andrea Jeremiah. The movie has been delayed for a long time and has been released in India today. Let us see how the movie has come out.

Plot:

The plot revolves around Nayanthara and Simbu, who are in love with each other.  They plan to get married, but there is a difference of opinion between the two just six months before marriage.  They are on the verge of breaking their relationship. What exactly is the reason for their separation? Do they get married? Even if they get married, would their relationship last? These questions are answered in the movie.

Star Performances:

Simbu has done the role of a software professional in the movie. Romance comes to him with much ease, and there is a semblance of Simbu in Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya. Dialogues by Simbu keep the audience engaged throughout the movie. Nayanthara is as good as usual. There is a touch of genuineness in the lead pair’s relationship and gives a feel of watching something real to the audience. The comedy tracks performed by Simbu and Soori are simply wonderful. Jayaprakash has made an appearance in the movie as Simbu’s dad. Udhay Mahesh and Dheepa Ramanujan have done the role of Nayanthara’s parents in the movie. Jai and Santhanam’s cameos are a treat to the fans, and so is Adah Sharma in a special song.

Analysis:

The entire movie is about the relationship between Simbu and Nayanthara before marriage and after marriage.  There are no twists in this tale, and director Pandiraj has come up with a finely knit story that is palatable to the audiences of all sections.  The movie would create a feel of nostalgia among married couples.  The movie is packed with romantic scenes, comedy and witty dialogues.  The portions before the interval are fun-packed and the second half has a tiny twist to it.

What is there?

  • The camera work by Balasubramaniam deserves applause.
  • Simbu’s brother Kuralarasan has composed the music, and the numbers are melodious.
  • The background music is one of the attributes worth mentioning.

What is not there?

  • The portions in the movie after interlude are lengthy, and could have been made crisp.
  • There is not major twists in the movie. However, the movie manages to attract the audiences through its simple story.

Verdict:

The movie is a romantic comedy that  manages to meet the expectations of the audiences.
