Plot
Martin and Leena are husband and wife. Martin was working as a Manager at a Tea Estate owned by his friend Paul. When their wedding anniversary is fast approaching, Martin wants to give his wife a surprise gift. His co-worker installed a spy camera app on his girlfriend’s mobile and captured her cute expressions and made it a video, and presented it to her, which she admired a lot. So, Martin decided to follow the same to surprise his love of life. But, what he witnessed was some unexpected nasty things, which he didn’t guess. What were those? What happened in Martin’s life after he witnessed some incidents? What happened around him? The rest of the film speaks about those questions.
Star Performance
SP Siddharth and Chaitanya did justice to the given roles. Despite being the newcomers, their measured performances are captivating. Ananth Nag has given a neat performance, yet again. Arun Pandian’s screen time is minimal, still he makes a significant impact.
Analysis
The director’s bold attempt should be appreciated. Yes, without a big budget and big stars, he managed to bring a thriller with enough engaging elements. The screenplay is neat and the execution is pretty decent. The screenplay makes the audiences have different opinions about the characters, every ten minutes as the story progresses. The thrill and surprise continue until the end, making the audience glued to their seats. Though the DOP has captured good visuals and the music composer has provided decent BGM, the editing part lacks crispness. However, the BGM is louder in certain places.

Athomugam comes with a few minus points, but it captures the audience with its screenplay, execution and performance. Athomugam – Watch-worthy thriller!
