Analysis
A missing son, distraught parents, and a case of mistaken identity. It's probably a great formula for a riveting movie. This is what Lalji George would have thought in mind until the execution got the better of him.
There is nothing more repelling than a film that is incomplete in concept. However, this is what ‘Rhithum: Beyond the Truth’ suffers from. It begins as a quest for the truth. However, by the time the film comes to an end, the audience, as well as the characters of the film are confused about what they were looking for.
Despite his vision, writer cum director Lalji George could not convert the same into a brilliant screenplay. Despite the short runtime of one and a half hours, the film tests the audience's patience more than once. The film looks incomplete, both in terms of narrative, as well as structure. It looks as if the makers had conceived of a brilliant idea, and then left it midway to just complete the project on time.
However, there were still a couple of people, who did their best to salvage this film. One of them was Harison Luke, who tried his best to give this film an aesthetically appealing touch. The other was Shaju Shaam, who as the distraught father, exuded the right emotions needed for this role.

Verdict
‘Rhithum: Beyond the Truth’ was not a high-stake film. Yet, the basic idea was good enough for a compelling social drama. The execution, however, is a different story. Watch it if only for the visuals, or the acting of Shaju Shaam as the distressed father.
