Landlord is scripted and directed by Jadesh K Hampi. K. S. Suraj Gowda and K. V. Sathyaprakash produced the film. Swamy J. Gowda cranked the camera, and KM Prakash edited the film. Duniya Vijay, Rachita Ram, “Raj B Shetty,” Rakesh Adiga, Rithnya Vijay, Shishir Baikady, Achyuth Kumar, Umashree, Bhavana Rao, Abhi Das, Sharath Lohitashwa, and Gopalkrishna Deshpande.
Plot
Rachayya is a labourer who is soft-spoken. He is married to Ningavva, and they have a daughter, Bhagya. Rachayya dreams of owning a piece of land. He believes in rules and expects a change within the system. Sannadhani is a village landlord who is authoritative and unquestioned. He is from an authoritative family. He doesn’t use violence as his weapon to control people, but uses fear and tradition. Will he allow Rachayya to achieve his dream? The rest of the story speaks about that.
Star Performance
Raj B Shetty’s performance is effective. He mixed fierce and calmness in his face, and stands at the top as a menacing antagonist. Duniya Vijay is excellent in his role. His performance is very well grounded, and he fits the role perfectly. Rachita is okay in her role. Umashree, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Achyuth Kumar, Bhavana Rao, Sharath Lohithashwa, Shishir Baikady, Rakesh Adiga, Sampath Maitreya, and Abhi Das are quite decent in their roles and helped the leads with their excellent supporting performances.
Analysis
The film has a decent story with a strong emotional element. The characters are developed well, especially Raj B Shetty’s character. The writing is quite good, which makes the screenplay showcase the needed tension. The supporting stars are the biggest plus in the film. Along with their strong characters, the stars rendered their excellent support through their performances to make the film appear lively. The pacing is not stable. It oscillates throughout and disrupts the flow. The visuals and the BGM are effective. The editing is decent, too.
