Analysis

He Sarasu is a very well written comedy that playfully explores themes of love and misunderstanding and brings out the humour of it all. The premise sets stage for comedic fallacy and romantic entanglements and promises the viewers a delightful treat all along. The screenplay turns out to be very well adapted from “Chandralekha”, though it may rely on familiar tropes and may not be as impactful. Overall he sarasu proves to be a delightful experience appealing to the viewers of romantic comedies while showcasing the charm of its lead characters with their amazing chemistry. The well-written characters and their congruous comedy raise the comic character of the film building up on the main storyline. The cinematography may not be exceptional but it is standard enough to capture the themes of the film.

What’s there?

  • Engaging storytelling and performances
  • Lighthearted humour along with comic characters

What’s not there?

  • It may not have the same comic element and emotional depth as Chandralekha (the one it is based on)
  • It is not a very innovative plot
  • Conventional take on the theme of romantic comedy
  • Predictable, not very original

Verdict

Though it may not be as impactful as the movie it was adapted from it still has a significant standing as compared to ‘Chandralekha’ with not a very distinct plot but with its comic take on the story with a well-balanced emotional take on the theme, charismatic and captivating characters with good comic merit and chemistry makes it a very admirably written romantic comedy film. It is a good-to-go conventional film for romantic comedy fans, something you can watch with your friends and family.
