Plot
The film starts with the life of old Allama Prabhu, who resides in Kalyan. It is the place where Basavanna lived. The flashback portion reveals the childhood of Allama and his youth life. Allama’s teachings are the main plot of the film.
Star Performances
Dhananjay has done his career best performance. It is just a weighty character and the biggies think twice before committing to it. Meghna has done her part as the temptress, quiet well. Lakshmi Gopalaswamy’s role is one among the best roles in the film and the actress had not just performed but lived it. Sanchari Vijay has delivered a casual performance.
Analysis
Although it is a 12th-century story, the director Nagabharana had tried hard to bring the difference between a documentary film and the commercial flick. These kinds of historically themed movies couldn’t be made in a commercial way, yet Nagabharana had tried out his best. The dialogues are good and the background scores perfectly matched.
