To touch an already sensitive point and get your things done is the idea behind the incredibly meaningful and decidedly quirky film, TERE BIN LADEN.

Plot

A reporter with big dreams of wanting to make a mark in the ever-blooming  American media circuit, but stuck in the reality of working with a downmarket news channel operating in Pakistan and getting only boring assignments bumps into an Osama lookalike while on an assignment. What happens next is the birth of an idea, that is, to use the lookalike as a ticket to his dreams. The characters in the film range right from the downmarket channel head played by the hilarious Piyush Mishra Piyush Mishra is an Indian film actor, singer, com >> Read More... , to the ambitious reporter, which is flawlessly carried out by newcomer Ali Zafar Ali Zafar is a multifaceted personality, though he >> Read More... . The fuel of the film is the brilliant Osama lookalike, played by debutant Pradhuman Singh Pradhuman Singh, is a Hindi actor who portrayed th >> Read More... , who has the audience in splits followed by the team that is hired to make the video look authentic which includes the very talented makeup artist as well as a dubbing artist. Chaos ensues in the process of turning the lookalike into Osama in such a manner that the American government believes it, making a video that looks authentic and finding the right people who can aid him in the process. But the big question remains, even if they succeed in doing what they aspire to, what if the BEST PLAN EVER backfires?

Star performances:

The debutant Ali Zafar looks promising and carries the film well on his shoulders. The supporting cast comprises some well-known names. Piyush Mishra is at his funny best. Osama, played by Pradhuman Singh, is the highlight of the movie. Sugandha Garg Sugandha Garg is famously known as an Actor, Singe >> Read More... and Rahul Singh Rahul Singh is a popular Indian model and actor, b >> Read More... also deliver persuasive performances. The outstanding performances add to the engaging content of the movie. It is difficult to pinpoint any one actor as the entire cast has put its best foot forward.

Analysis:

Directed by Abhishek Sharma Abhishek Sharma started his acting career when he >> Read More... , the film manages to be both funny and engaging. Also, it’s not just funny but unpredictable as well. Neither can one stop thinking about what is going to happen next, nor can one predict it, and that exactly is the essence of the movie. The content itself is not mainstream cinema, and thus, the film has a very fresh appeal attached to it, which is taken a notch higher by the brilliant actors in the movie.

What’s there?

Everything that is needed to make a film a good watch, from being well-directed to well- paced to well- written to well-performed. The film has it all!

What’s not there?

Given the tricky subject, fresh appeal and debutants involved, the film is raw in some parts. It still manages in being better than the regular funny potboilers.

Verdict:

A strong script complemented by all aspects of film-making makes the film likeable by almost every segment of the audience.
