The book of life is an intriguing animated feature film. The movie revolves around Manolo, who is a bullfighter (and also a music lover). He takes up a journey to save his love and defend his village. The film concentrates on the love triangle between Manolo, Joaquin and Maria, who are childhood friends.Â
Both Manolo and Joaquin wish to marry Maria.

lend their voices to the characters of Manolo, Maria, and Joaquin respectively. This film is flawed but is a step forward in the world of animated movies.Â
At times, one feels that the movie is becoming predictable but Gutierrez and co-writer Doug Langdale make sure that there are enough twists to keep one from getting distracted. The movie is promising and refreshingly original. What connects with the viewer is the energy of the movie. It is colorful, vibrant, refreshing and very enjoyable. Most kids under ten would have a great time watching this. This film is a visual treat.Â
As the film progresses, there is more to the battle between Manolo and Joaquin. Each has more to lose out on now. More characters enter the frame, and the story takes new turns. The viewer will never be bored watching the film. Not just for children, but also for adults this movie is a fun watch.Â
My suggestion would be to bring out the child in you and watch this movie. The spirit of the movie is amazing, and I am sure you will have a memorable time.
