The Book Of Life Teasers, Trailers & Video Songs
The Book of Life is a 2014 animated musical comedy co-written and directed by Jorge R. Gutierrez. The film explores the culture and traditions of Mexico while offering the audience an engaging story. The plot line revolves around the friendship of three friends. The boys Manolo, voiced by Diego Luna, and JoaquÃn, voiced by Channing Tatum, are in love with MarÃa, voiced by Zoe Saldana. But to make it more exciting, the Rulers of the Land of the Forgotten and the Land of the Remembered have a stake in the love triangle as well.
The animation is unique and intriguing. The character designs portray the living as wooden puppets, and the dead ones are of bones decorated with exquisite designs. The main leads are better looking than the supportive characters, thus putting emphasis on the significant roles. The movie is educational and entertaining with a lot of facts within each joke and will be an enjoyment for people of all ages.
Jorge R. Gutierrez wanted the story to be authentic in the portrayal of Mexican culture and thus opted out of visiting Mexico to avoid integration of touristy concepts. The movie is most notable for its originality and meticulous artwork that lifted it from being another animation and set it above all else.
