Plot
Danica works at a marketing company and she is in a relationship with a met she met online. Even though they have been in a relationship for a year, they never met. Danica’s sister Tanya is released from jail and their mother insists that Tanya must stay with her sister. When she gets to know about her sister’s online relationship, she tells her that she might be catfished by someone and it is not advisable to trust online dating. But Danica doesn’t listen to her. Is the relation genuine or is Danica being catfished? Will her sister uncover the truth? Why did Tanya go to jail in the first place?
Star Performance
Tiffany’s acting and humor filled the gaps in the film. Even though in some scenes it looked like overacting and not-so-funny humor she was the only good thing in the whole movie. Whoopi as the mother of the two sisters was very sensible and always supportive of them. Tika’s acting as Danica was very natural.
Analysis
The plot was very much predictable and there was nothing new. The characters were also very cliché. We have a typical successful black woman who has a bad past in relations. Then she meets some mysterious man online. And we have her sister who is the polar opposite of her. They don’t get together but at the end of the movie, we see they were protecting each other, and then boom we have the sister sentiment.
What’s There?
• Poverty and drugs concept was handled decently.
What’s Not There?
• Stereotypical characters and cliché dialogues.
• Unnecessary side plots.
Verdict
If you are bored and have no other films to watch, then you can go for this.
