This fascinating documentary opens with a bang as Wallace interviews Bill O'Reilly first. More than that, the film goes back and forth between the people Wallace interviewed and the times he took his own medicine and allowed his broadcast colleagues, people like Barbara Walters, Lesley Stahl, and, most memorably, a fierce Morley Safer, to turn the tables on him.
Star Performance:
Wallace was always an ambitious fellow using the term "jack of all trades" to describe his early career in front of cameras as an actor, pitchman, and news reporter. Someone in the media world summed up Wallace's questioning style as "A fine line between sadism and intellectual curiosity." He proves that questions are impactful allies on a spiritual journey, stretching our minds, bodies, and souls. The director Belkin made the wise choice of constructing the film entirely in the words of Wallace and allowing the man and his subjects to speak for themselves.
Analysis:
It is a rousing documentary about the career of a controversial journalist. The director emphasizes Wallace's booming voice and his penchant for hard-hitting questions that few others would dare to ask. This film does not offer any conclusions, but it is an atmospheric immersion in an old, smoky, and very male world of American TV journalism.

Verdict:
This documentary presents itself in a way that puts viewers on edge and about the way the man himself interacted with the world. Worth seeing if you're interested in journalists and watching people give an interview.
