Get him to the Greek is a comedy film starring Jonah Hill Jonah Hill Feldstein works as an Actor, comedian a >> Read More... and Russell Brand Russell Brand was born in Essex, England on 4th Ju >> Read More... in main roles.

Plot: The year is 2008 and Aldous Snow(Russell Brand) is a reckless rock star and releases his album and a titular single “African Child” which falls out and is a big failure. Fast forward and we see Aldous with his girlfriend Jackie Q ( Rose Byrne The famous English actress Rose Byrne was born in >> Read More... ) another rock star who sings pop songs in an interview but it results in more of a mess than an interview as Jackie blurts out drunkenly about their relationship and how it is on the verge of going off the hook. Eventually, it is proven true and they split up and Aldous loses custody of their son Naples as well. Aldous is a broke as his career is sabotaged by these events as he begins to fade to black.

The other part of story introduces us to Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) who works as a Talent Scout at Pinnacle Records and lives in Los Angeles. He has a girlfriend Daphne ( Elisabeth Moss Elisabeth Moss was born on 24th July 1982, to a mu >> Read More... ) and is happily living with her when Aaron’s boss asks him to repair the poor condition of the sales of the Pinnacle records to which Green proposes that Aldous Snow should be contacted so that he can play at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on the 10th anniversary of his performance there in 1999. Aaron’s idea is accepted and he is sent to London to escort Aldous for his performance. Before leaving Daphne informs Aaron that she has found a job at Seattle and insists that they move there to which he denies thus leading to an argument and ultimately to a break-up. Aaron meets Aldous but is surprised to know that his concert is scheduled after a few days and not after two months as he had thought.

But nevertheless, he travels with him but first lands up in a bar where Aaron receives a call from Daphne but instead is misinterpreted in a way and goes wrong. Meanwhile, the performance hour arrives but not that of the Greek Theatre and Aldous instead of singing “African Child” sings “Clap” which is received with applauds and cheers from the audience. Many mishaps occur during their journeys as Aaron is raped and hilarious events like request from Aldous to Aaron to smuggle Heroin in his rectum makes this journey more wild and amusing. The rest of the story is how these two fight and eventually complete each other with their unlikely of friendship during the course of the movie and eventually become good friends as Aldous finally performs with high spirits at the Greek Theatre.

Analysis: This movie should be loved, not because fatso Jonah Hill or quirky Russell is in it but the storyline and the acting that has been put into this movie, though sometimes the Sex parts exceeds the comedy part but still this movie makes you laugh like hell when you see poor Aaron stripped of his comfort when he meets Aldous who is cocky as hell. Nice screenplay to add to and well blending chemistry between the other supporting actors make this movie watchable.

Star Performances: Jonah Hill is definitely one of the most respected actors in Hollywood. The way he enacts stupidity is sufficient enough to make your stomach ache. And Russell Brand as a care-free, lonely rockstar who needs a helping hand to get out of his miserable life, I mean only a comedian like him can pull this off.

What's There?

 • Good story served with fine acts.

• Brilliant performance from Jonah and Russell.

• Comic scenes seem fresh with nice screenplay.

What's Not There?

• Sexuality exceeds comedy sometimes which is embarrassing.

Verdict: Watch this movie for Jonah Hill and Russell Brand and their friendly chemistry which spans across the whole movie, but if that’s not enough to convince you then probably you need to see more of Jonah Hill’s movie.
