For this, she asks her brother and friends to accompany to a remote place where she is away from all this and can be refreshed. So, Mia with her brother David his girlfriend, Natalie and their friends Olivia and Eric leave for their forest cabin with the hope Mia could withdraw.Â
In the cabin, one of the friends Eric discovers a mysterious old book of the Dead, and he reads from it aloud which awakens an old demon. This Malevolent possesses Mia. This movie is a perfect honor to writer/director Sam Raimi who made the classic original 'THE EVIL DEAD'.
 It has enough scary scenes to give you goose bumps. Something very refreshing about this movie is the use of practical effects, especially in an era of CGI full movies. The sequences seem painful, makes you stiff and you want to close your eyes but at the same time you don’t want to miss it.Â
Some flaws are there like why at first place Mia does not speak of what exactly is wrong and why her brother takes her for granted. But these are hard to notice. However, Jane Levy has done a brilliant job as Mia. Overall, it is a treat for those who like horror, and those who are light hearted people should try to stay away from it because it is going to give little heart attacks.
