PLOT:

Nathan Hayes' truck got stolen from a gas station. He ran to catch it and clings to the side of the vehicle. He fights with the thief, and the truck crashes into a tree at the roadside. The thief escapes and Nathan runs to find out that his infant son was safe in the car. Ambulance and police arrive at the scene, and Mitchell and Fuller discover that Nathan was the new deputy of that place. They wonder how they would react to such a situation. They all discuss sheriff's mail on fatherhood and how their relations are with their children and family. Mitchell is close to his nine-year-old daughter, but far from his fifteen-year-old son, Dylan.

Hayes is strict with his teenage daughter regarding dating a guy. Fuller is a divorced deputy who has joint custody of his kid. Thomson is a young bachelor. All the officers wonder how their fathers have been to them and their family. Hayes becomes lenient towards his daughter and gestures to meet Jade, a teenage boy who got involved with a gang of drug dealers. Mitchell's wife, Emily, died in an accident, and his daughter also dies afterwards. This incident brings Mitchell closer to Dylan, and he reads about fatherhood from the Bible. Every one of them tries to improvise their relationship with their children. Mitchell helps Dylan in his 5K race, and Fuller starts building a strong relationship with his son. Hayes ends his relationship with his daughter and gifts her a purity ring. Thomson also accepts that he has a son from his college days, which he abandoned. Hayes tells Thomson to contact the girl and ask her for a relationship with his daughter. Mitchell and Hayes investigate and find that Fuller was stealing drugs from the evidence and selling them. Fuller gets arrested, and he requests Mitchell to take care of his son. Mitchell and Hayes have a roadside battle with the drug dealing gang members and their leader. They arrest the suspects. The movie has a happy ending with the deputies building a strong bond with their children.

ANALYSIS:

The film gained lots of appreciation and positive upshots from the audience at the box office. It won many awards for various categories like, The Best Feature Film at San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival 2012, Most Inspiring Movie at Epiphany Prize 2012, etc. The movie took a budget of 2 million USD in its making, but it earned approximately 17 times more than the actual budget closing at 35.2 USD.

STAR PERFORMANCES:

Alex Kendrick, Ken Bevel, Kevin Downes, and Ben Davies were the lead actors in the movie. The acting of Alex, Ken, Kevin, and Ben was commendable. They did complete justice to their roles as police officers. They acted very remarkably. Their acting was natural, and they executed the story beautifully, and even inspired the audience regarding fatherhood. The movie revolved around the relationship of fathers with their children, so the role of the actresses was not much of importance and considered in the success of the movie.
