MORE CAST & CREW
As in the first part Kidulthood, Noel Clarke lives with his girlfriend Shanika Warren and two of their kids in the city.
Plot:
Sam is now older, but not wiser. Daley rejects Sam to recruit in his gang, and he blackmails Sam by arranging some troubles for his family. To create difficulties an old enemy from earlier , uncle Curtis arrives to add more problems. Inevitably, in most cinemas, the ex-cons always go straight, but Sam’s past comes back to haunt him badly.
A fresh warning arrives when his younger brother Royston (Daniel Anthony) got shot while he was singing on stage. After that a beautiful lady(Tonia Sotiropoulou) convinces Sam into sex with his brother’s friend Henry (Arnold Oceng). Sam somehow tracks down the gunmen who killed his brother rudely to West London mansion, where a cocky local gangster Jason Maza is found with numbers of prostitutes and thugs. If the previous two installments had fascinated you, then you are going to love this one.
Analysis:
Someway equilibrium of the film is maintained for 2 reasons - first, the characters of Kayla and Rosa Coduri, both of them are asking for respect amidst the serious, procrastinating the situation. Secondly, most cleverly, dark and daft humor that makes you laugh.
Star Performances:Â
Famous music star Stormzy creates a quite good debut with his minor role of a gangster who is slightly lacking confidence, where Arnold Oceng as Henry cinches MVP status perfectly. Oceng does the funniest part as he had done in the earlier one. The innovative story does better by mixing up comic and violent elements. Coming to gender politics, it was messy and frank. Undoubtedly, Clarke leaves you spellbound with his unique storyline and direction.
What's There?Â
1. The fresh and kicky soundtrack of mostly contemporary, and British hip-hop with the mixed flavor of grime, and R&B.
2.Brotherhood itself has its signature which holds uniqueness, and presentation.
3.Sam’s different relationship with his best friend and brother's friend Henry, Agnes(Sam's mother).
What's Not There?Â
1. Jason Maza performs the young gangster character Daley wildly unreasonable and Cornell John is overreacting.
2. Brotherhood is filled with horrible gangster attitudes, lifeless dialogues, dark humor and love for family.
3. Ladies in the movie get a raw deal, prostitutes.
Final verdict:
Unlike the first two installments, Brotherhood is softer with the factor of class as the story goes forward. A psychologically little depth movie which is technically glossy.
