A brave princess who is trying to go against the traditional customs and face the consequences.
Plot:
Merida, a Scottish princess, is highly talented in the skill of archery. King Fergus and Queen Elinor, her parents, are trying to make a wedding proposal for her. Merida changes the rules of the contest. She wants to contest with each of them, and the one who will win this contest can marry her.
But unfortunately, all the men lost the contest. Merida got into an argument with her mother. Merida goes to a witch to find a solution. The witch gives a cake and says that this will change her fate permanently. When the queen consumes the cake, she turns into a black bear.
Merida goes back to the witch house with her mother and finds that the witch left a note saying that she has to repair the pride before the second sunrise. How Merida saves her mom and brings back the pride will be the conclusion of this story.
Merida yearns for some crazy adventure; her mother stops that due to the traditional and cultural norms. She has a tomboy character and rebels against her mother and rejects each and every request of the queen. The first half of the movie mostly covers all the fights, overindulging, and the second half shares more about mother-daughter sentiment.
Kudos to the animation section of the movie for their brilliant work. The voice over to each of the characters in the movie has given a life to the characters. It makes the characters more lively. We have Patrick Doyle in place of Randy Newman, who used to be the composer for most of the Pixar's movies.
Doyle's music goes along with the animation and makes the viewers more engaged in the movie.
Verdict:
Undoubtedly, Pixar's 13th venture's protagonist is really 'Brave.'
