MORE CAST & CREW
This movie is based mainly on the mass burial of Atari 2600 video game ‘ET- the extraterrestrial’ in 1982.
Plot: The story happens in the present day. The game executive of Cockburn industries, Mandi proposes to promote a bad sequel to ‘ET,’ to boost up the sales. Nerd and Cooper are supposed to write a review for the sequel. Nerd felt demoralized at the thought that he has to promote and write the review for a bad game. Meanwhile, his fans forced him to write a review for ‘ET’ as well.
Nerd had some scarred memories of ET. So he goes to unravel the conspiracy behind the burial of the game discs. He goes to Mexico along with Mandi & Cooper, who are intervened by General Dark Onward and Sergeant McButter, assuming that they have come here for illegally trying to research about extraterrestrials. The trio somehow escapes from them and tries to track down the creator but instead come up with Dr.Zandor, an ex-worker from area 51, who reveals that the game’s design is the exact plan of area 51. Howard Scott Warshaw was assigned to make a game on ET and to take revenge on government for holding an alien as a hostage.
Nerd explores into area 51, tries to unravel maximum truth by facing many hurdles in between and finally reaches back to the spot where the game discs were being dumped. He writes a new review to the ET, but this time as one cryptic and challenging game but not completely bad game, though. Rolfe’s never getting embarrassed performance was quite funny. Nathan Barnett and Doug Walker’s cameo was beneficial and made us enjoy thoroughly. Other characters performance was good and neat.
The script happened to be the drawback for the movie. Most of the script and jokes were same as that of web series. Too much of input towards the climax made it a bit perplexed for the viewers. Few scenes like when Cooper describes all about his beliefs were unnecessary and out of the script.
Verdict: This movie was quite average when compared to James’s previous endeavors such as ‘the legend of the blue hole’ and ‘the deader the better’. AVGN failed to give us a feel of glee.
