Plot: Alice is a nineteen year old girl who escapes her ongoing engagement party only to fall into the Underworld. She reckons that the sole purpose of her errand here is to give the rightful Queen her place by throwing the Red Queen off the reign.
What you may like:
1. The most impressive part of the movie directed by Tim is its extravagance and brilliance, visually. Everything that goes on screen is just totally mesmerizing and enchanting. You will only be extremely excited seeing all the effects and events happening in the movie, and they will linger on in your mind for a long time after you've watched the movie due to its exuberance.
2. Another thing that is very commendable and exciting is the immense amount of talent that all the actors in the movie have. From Johnny Depp to Anne Hathaway, everyone has given a very eccentric and, therefore, a remarkable performance throughout.
3. You will be highly impressed by the idea behind the various costumes that the characters of the movie donned. They are simply mind-blowing, innovative and extremely unique making it worth the money to go and watch the movie for its extravagance on the visual and art part of this film. If you go for the movie's larger than life visual of the imagination of our childhood story, then you will have a fun time watching it.
What you may dislike:
1. The story is very boring and clumsily written. The writer took the liberty to change some things from the original, deviating from the novel's story but only to no effect. These deviations don't do anything good for the movie making them inessential and redundant in the process.
2. Even though the movie is eccentric and unique in its visual experience and art designs, this will not be a unique thing you've seen because there are many other like that.
3. The movie doesn't do justice to the absurd story of the novel or the whimsical and odd characters with their out of the world dialogues. There could've been a movie that may portray this movie in so much better a way had it been directed by someone else maybe.
Verdict: If you watch this movie, expect only the visual experience to be breathtaking because everything else is just simply mundane.
