Plot

The movie starts off with a girl named Meg, her parents are scientists at NASA. Meg is close to her dad Alex, one day her parents confess that they are going to adopt a baby boy, though she doesn’t like the news her parents assure her that they will love her the same. The scene shifts to four years later, and Meg and her adopted brother Charles are pretty close. They hear the news of their dad’s disappearance on TV and get upset, Alex went missing two years ago while doing an experiment over a galaxy and the incident has affected them a lot. Meg started being depressed and her performance in studies also declined, in between all these she picked up a fight with a bully in her class, Veronica who was talking nuisance about her father. At home, her mother, Kane talks to her and asks her to apologize to Veronica. While the conversation is going on they hear the doorbell and see that Charles has brought a weird lady Mrs. Whatsit, when Kate asks her to leave, she tells them that Tesseract is a real thing and it is a way of space traveling that Alex was studying. When after lunch with Meg’s friend Calvin, she goes out to see him off, two other weird-looking ladies appear with Mrs. Whatsit. Who were those weird-looking ladies? Will her father ever get back? The rest of the movie revolves around it.

Star Performance

Storm Reid as Meg depicts a very strong character and an ideal daughter. All other supporting characters also justified their roles. A special credit also goes to the story writers, filmmakers and make-up artists to make the movie feel realistic and extraordinary.

Analysis

The story follows the journey of Meg Murry, a young girl who is struggling with feelings of insecurity and a lack of self-confidence. The novel takes the readers on a wild adventure, as the characters travel through different dimensions to rescue Mr. Murry. One of the most notable themes in A Wrinkle in Time is the battle between good and evil. The Black Thing represents the negative forces in the world, such as hate, anger, and fear, while the three wise women and the children embody love, hope, and courage. Another important theme in the novel is the power of love and family. Meg's love for her father and her determination to find him drive her on this dangerous journey. Through their connections with each other, they learn the importance of love and the support of family in facing life's difficulties.

Verdict

This was an interesting story and even though you don't normally enjoy Science Fiction, this book had a clear plotline and lovely characters to make your day.
