is the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister. In the speech he made, he has said that the government will take steps to stop pirating of movies. Also, he has added that directors should undergo a self-censorship to avoid lewdness and obscenity in movies.
Venkaiah Naidu spoke during a felicitation held by South Indian cinema. He has said that Indian movies should be a portrayal of the culture. Also, the movies should depict the family values, said the minister. The Minister spoke in response to a question raised by Kalaipuli S Thanu and said that every step would be taken to curb piracy of movies.
It is to be noted that Kalaipuli S Thanu is the producer for Rajini Starrer Kabali. Also, the producer has approached the court to ban sites which relay pirated movies online.
