LG Polymer plant had been working at Gopalapatnam in Visakhapatnam. When the workers had been preparing to re-open the plant, the gas started leaking in the early morning. Nearly six people are said to have lost their lives and hundreds of people had been suffering from breathing issues and irritation in the eyes and skin. They had been admitted to the King George Hospital and the treatment had been going on.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the CM of the state has ordered the officials to take all the essential steps to stop the leak and save the lives of the people. He has been getting ready to visit the people, who are getting the treatment at the hospital. People, who are residing in a radius of 5km from the polymer plant had been evacuated. A lot of pet animals, birds and livestock had died due to the poisonous gas leakage.
